Choose QuickBooks if…
- you need to report savings interest, a salary (PAYE), dividends, State Pension, private pensions and 10 more in your tax return — QuickBooks supports them now; Sage lists them as in development
- you are VAT registered and want MTD for VAT in the same product
- you would like HMRC Assist, which helps spot possible mistakes before you submit
Choose Sage if…
- you want a free option — free plan, limited to 25 auto-categorised transactions, 1 bank account, 5 sales invoices a month
