What counts as qualifying income?
Your total gross income from self-employment and property, before expenses. HMRC's example: £25,000 of rent plus £27,000 from self-employment gives £52,000. For jointly owned property, only your share counts.
It does not include employment income, dividends, pensions or your share of partnership profits — but you still report those in your tax return, so your software needs to handle them.
